The High Negev Desert is blooming
הפריחה בהר רמון
This year we had a bumper crop due to plenty of rain and quite a couple of days of snow.
All these pictures were taken on one day – March 23, 2015 – near Mt Ramon (altitude 3100 ft ASL) in the south of Israel.
The red Desert Tulip were on the tops of the mountains. The rest are in usually dry washes – some still had water running.
Altitude 2700-3000 ft ASL. Temperature 61F. Slightly cloudy.
I have lived in nearby Mitspe Ramon (see map) in the past (for 8 years) and have toured this mountain range numerous times and seen the desert flora almost every year or so – but such abundance on one day – only one day?
Want to get to know all these flowers – join me on my tour as your Israel private tour guide Israel
