ISRAEL TOUR GUIDE – The Shrine
Just outside Jerusalem, on the way to Tel Aviv, near the village of Abu Gosh there is this important shrine.
What can it be?
So a little anecdote before you get to see the Shrine.
Some years ago I had a small party of Roman Catholic priests from the Chicago and we did a one-day tour of Jerusalem – mainly the sights holy to the three main religions. They were about my age – then about 60. On the way back to Tel Aviv I told them that there would be one more stop – at the Shrine and that they would find out exactly what it was when we got there. No harm in a little bit of suspense.
When they got out of my van and they saw the Shrine they could not stop smiling and giggling. They laughed all the way back to Tel Aviv and could not stop talking about the place. Even today, quite a couple of years later they still send me Christmas cards mentioning this great Shrine.
So to enter the shrine you need to change shoes. Please put on your blue-suede-shoes and follow me…
